Alan Painter (R-Chattanooga Valley) has kicked off "YOUR Future YOUR Vote" campaign for the new District 1 seat by signing the Mount Vernon Statement & the Taxpayer Protection Pledge at a recent Tea Party Meeting.
I am PRO-Life, PRO-Guns, PRO-Limited Government.

My family has called Northwest Georgia home for five generations. Andrew Painter, my great grandfather and his wife came to Lookout Mountain via muleback over 125 years ago.
Tina and I have raised our son on lands that my father & grandfather had to grow food and keep cattle during the great depression just to survive.
I experience daily what it takes to make public education all it could be.
As a husband to a 6th grade math teacher, I have seen my wife try to balance teaching her students while tackling time consuming ever increasing bureaucratic paperwork.
A honor graduate from Chattanooga Valley High, I started my undergraduate work at the Georgia Institute of Technology in electrical engineering. I also hold diplomas & degrees from Chattanooga State, Northwestern Technical College, and Covenant College.
With your vote the FIGHT to lift the boot of government off our necks has begun!

As a software engineer, I have been called upon to do highly technical classified projects for the federal government. And I have seen first hand how bureaucrats have transformed government into an unsustainable taker of taxpayer's money.
If you share my desire to march head first into these battles, then I need your VOTE and SUPPORT on Tuesday the July 31st Republican Primary!
You can "friend me" at Facebook.com/AlanPainter (FB Login Required) and if I can visit with your group or event, please ask!

Alan's dad is the late W.R. Painter, an union electrician, and mom Mae (Padgett) Painter, a former mill worker who was borned and raised on Sand Mountain.
Known by close friends as "Miss Mae", she stills lives in the family's Chattanooga Valley home built by her late husband Bill for nearly 60 years.
Painter was borned in what was formerly known as Tri-County Hospital (now Erlanger @ Hutcheson) Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.

He is married to the former Tina Parham & Mrs. Painter is a 6th grade math teacher who has taught in DeKalb, Walker, and now Chickamauga City Schools.
They have a son Will. (Also pictured left is great niece Abigail) The Painter's are members at Oakwood Baptist Church in Chickamauga, Georgia.
Alan Painter started his career as a software writer while still a student at Georgia Tech. He has worked on projects for the EPA, DoD, DoE, and NASA. He worked for nearly 10 years at Wheland Foundry as well as 5 years at Memorial Hospital.

Presently Alan is a senior software engineer for Thomson Reuters, the parent company of the news gathering agency Reuters & the publisher of WestLaw™ family of products.
Painter tries to get away fishing on his pond from time to time.
When North Carolina’s Democratic governor Beverly Perdue suggested to suspend national electons "for a few years", joke or no joke, it tells me how out of control things have gotten.
People tell me that the courts will give the last word on the unconstitutionality over issues like Obamacare or EPA mandates forced on Georgia.
I want to explore a first line of defense. The Georgia House of Representatives has the constitutional authority to defund any Georgia agency that tries to implement over reaching federal activities that are in conflict with the U.S. 10th amendment.
Every dollar in Georgia's budget depends on 30¢ from the Federal Government
Because of this, the federal government's version of the Golden Rule applies He who holds the gold makes the rules.
With a 15 trillion dollar national debt, like it or not, we have to start the process of reshaping Georgia's budget. This will allow us to break the stranglehold of unelected federal bureaucrats attacking our liberties.
- Taxpayer Protection Pledge
- I oppose (and will vote against) any efforts to increase taxes
- 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution
- Limited Government & Rule of Law
- It's the role of Georgia's legislators, not lobbyists, and not state agencies, to create new laws
- Judicial Reform
- Child rapists deserves the ultimate punishment
- Following the Money

Georgia's budget depends on 30¢ from the Federal government for EVERY dollar
I have overheard bureaucrats talking Our money; Our rules;
We -must- reshape the state budget
